ANTI RAGGING CELL-“SAMRAKSHAN”


Anti-Ragging Committee is the Supervisory and Advisory Committee in preserving a Culture of Ragging Free Environment in the college Campus. As per the order of Supreme Court of India and subsequent Notification from University Grants Commission (UGC).Ragging is a heinous crime and a criminal offence as declared by the Supreme Court of India. Jindal College for Women believes in fostering a harmonious relationship amongst its students and strictly condemns ragging. We have an Anti – Ragging Cell. The students are sensitized on the ill effects of ragging and the legal proceedings in curbing the practice. Awareness is created via orientation programme in the beginning of each academic year in which cell collects declaration form. The Cell also educates the students at large by adopting various means about the menace of Ragging and related Punishments. Anti-Ragging Cell counsels students and helps in moulding their personality for a better cause. Jindal College for Women has been successful in creating a ragging – free campus.

Objectives

  • The main objective of this cell is to create awareness among the students on the importance of “Ragging free Campus”
  • Make them aware of the human rights issues involved in it and to keep continuous watch and vigilance over ragging issues so as to prevent its occurrence and recurrence.
  • To take necessary measures to achieve the objectives of eliminating the menace of ragging within the Institution or outside
  • To act on the defaulters who are found guilty of ragging and /or abetting ragging, actively or passively, or being part of a conspiracy to promote ragging

Vision
To build a ragging free environment by instilling the principles of democratic values, tolerance, empathy, compassion and sensitivity to that students become responsible citizens.

Mission
To create an atmosphere of discipline and ensure that no act of ragging takes place in college premises.
